The William J. Villa Departmental Service to Students Award began in 2001. In honor of the former Director for Admissions and Outreach Services, this award recognizes one university department that has demonstrated extraordinary service to students.
Consideration is given to UCSB departments that have a commitment to maintaining and improving student growth in the university’s changing environment and campus climate. The department consistently strives for excellence in its support for students and displays approachability, flexibility, availability, openness to innovation, and teamwork.
In your nomination below please provide as much detail as possible to help the committee understand how your departmental nominee goes above and beyond their job duties. Please share examples of the way that your nominee interacts with, supports, guides, mentors, advises, or counsels students and, in doing so, creates a positive environment.
*Please note that William J. Villa Recipients (from the last 5 years) are ineligible for consideration this year.
